After School at the Scandinavian School
After the school day ends, learning, play and community continue.
Our after-school program, Fria, is open to Scandinavian children from both inside and outside the school. It’s a space where children explore, create and grow together with support from dedicated educators.
We focus on building social and emotional skills through both free play and structured activities. Whether it’s theatre, swimming, football, crafts, chess or just time with friends, children can expect fun and stimulating activities to complement the school day.
The regular in-house activities are complemented by classes with external specialised tutors within special fields, all initiated by the parents collective.
Our after school setup
Schedule
Days in the Scandinavian school are long, with schedules running until 1:30 pm–3:30 pm most days, depending on age group. When the scheduled activities end, the after school activities, Fria, begin.
Fria runs Monday–Thursday after school until 5:00 pm, which is the deadline for picking kids up. On Fridays, the school closes at 12:45 pm, meaning there is no Fria.
The program is free for kids enrolled in the Scandinavian School or Preschool. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, and games. Kids can also get support with their homework.
The activities are mainly run by in-house staff, but additional activities with external tutors are planned and organised by the parent collective and available for a fee.
